John Covert is the owner of Covert Homes, LLC and Palmetto Custom Homes of South Carolina, LLC. He is a native of the Columbia area and has a vested interest on the appearance of our community. John is married to Tami, wife of fourteen years, and along with their three children, Bailey, Bryson, and Meredith, they are an active part of the Blythewood community. With over one hundred home con- struction project in his portfolio, John has shown diversity in product and consistency in quality. Building what can be considered an "Ultra-Custom" home is achieved by the utmost in customer service and understanding. It starts with a thorough evaluation of the customer's needs and is completed with a distinct understanding of the construction process. John swung a hammer for the first time as a child and then again as a teenager as a carpenters apprentice. He has spent much of his time since, in the residential construction industry. His focus is on high quality, custom construction and "Building with a Cornerstone of Integrity", a slogan that serves both the builder and the client.

Founded by first and second generation builders, Sam and Kenneth Ayers, The S.E. Ayers Company, Inc. has been building quality custom homes in the Columbia area since 1986. After a 22 year banking career, Pat Dunbar formed Dunbar Builders, Inc. in 1991 and began specializing in upscale traditional homes that are known for both high quality and outstanding value. Pat was joined by his son, Patrick Dunbar, in 1999, after graduating from the College of Charleston. The Dunbars build a combination of custom and spec homes, primarily in the Northeast Columbia and Lake Murray/Chapin areas. Attention to detail and excellent customer service and follow-up are hallmarks of their business. Known for community and building industry involvement, both Pat and Patrick are active Home Builders Association (HBA) members. Pat served on the HBABoard of Directors for eight years and was President in 2002.

Troy Berry, owner of Carolina Quality Homes, Inc., is a native of Columbia and a graduate of The University of South Carolina with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. After a 15 year career in the Civil and Mechanical Engineering profession, Troy’s passion and desire to build custom homes was always there. Carolina Quality Homes was established in 2004 striving to provide the personalized customer service and customer focus you desire when building your custom home.
